I have spent 17 years of my life in an institution. Roughly, for every 3 days of my existence thus far, 1 of those days has been spent as a compliant member of the education system.  For much of my life, my academic career has felt like, well, whatever the farthest thing from an outstanding opportunity is.  The forced mental labor and negative reinforcement from the authoritarian teachers did not help my free spirit and need for authenticity.

Students do not realize the sphere of influence that is begging for them to interact with. For almost all of my academic career I did not utilize the wisdom, experience, and willingness to help that almost all professors and people would share with me. For this blog I want to dig deeper then superficial conversations with people I know can have a great influence on me. I want to know more, I want to know what people know, that way I won’t have to waste time making the same mistakes.
